Pierre Abel-Nau "Le Phenix" slot counter top slot machine / music box, c.1903, wooden case burned with serial number 1469, decorated with instructional brass plaques, glazed dial shows shields depicting flags of the world, with hand in the form of an arrow, above a lower music box, with a glazed front, 56 x 78 x 30cm, upon inserting a coin and pulling the lever, music would play, on the occurrence of a winning spin tokens (either silver or gold in colour) would be dispensed which could be redeemed to the vendor for a number of items including drinks, money and others, side mounted removable cash box with keys.
